Good Morning! Happy Juneteenth.
A few quick additions to our calendar this week that I’d like to bring to your attention:
Some folks from Brooklyn center for Theatre Research (our downstairs neighbors) have organized a gathering in our beloved building to celebrate. It all came together a bit last minute, so pardon the late notice. The event will take place on both floors and will feature a selection of recent works on paper, paintings, sculpture, performance, and food by artists of the Cooper Union Black Student Union (BSU) and the larger Black community. The display will be accompanied by a series of live performances, readings, and durational artworks, as well as ongoing set performances by NCP Radio DJs. Come celebrate with us!
Crystal Peñalosa had to postpone her Present Sounds session that was planned for this week. Luckily Errol and Alex Rita from Touching Bass, who happen to be in town are stepping in. They came by for Laraaji’s unforgettable sunrise set on Sunday, and I’m so glad they had Thursday night available in their busy schedule. If you haven’t spent time with their NTS show, I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to hear the selections they are pulling for us all on Thursday. Don’t miss this one! Errol will get things started and my good friend Ray Bally will be performing live around sunset. Alex Rita will land the ship. Eli is on dinner duty, so come hungry!
This weekend:
SEE YOU SOON
LOVE
